Another Day, Another Listing

I sold quite a few items at Tom and Lucy's Art Shoppe last week. However, I brought quite a bit home as well. So over the next couple of weeks, I am going to try and add a new listing to my etsy shop (http://www.weeknit.etsy.com/) every day.

So here are today's and yesterday's listings.

Piglet's Big Movie Finger Puppet (6 puppets) and Children's Book Set

Read It Again Mom!

Maybe it's the mom in me. Maybe it's the teacher in me. (Teaching is the profession I had before becoming "mom". It was the job that paid me. Who knew that becoming a mom would make a teacher's salary seem golden. lol) But I am obsessed with children's books.

To be honest, my obsession started long before I was a mom or a teacher. What's not to love about children's books? Colorful pictures to look at. Few words to focus on. A life's lesson wrapped up in a matter of pages. (Often a lesson needed more by the adult than by the child.) And don't underestimate the meaningful memories created when a parent curls up with his or her child to read a book. "Read it again Mom!" is a phrase uttered by my 4-year old almost daily.

So it's no wonder that some of my favorite listings in my etsy shop are my finger puppet and book combos. I love finding books to pair up my puppets with. Sometimes my mom and I design puppets specifically for a book. It's a fun challenge! I have a few of these listings in my shop right now and I hope to add more. So please stop by and check them out. http://www.weeknit.etsy.com/

My Bear and Friends Set goes perfectly with this Winnie the Pooh Easter Book.
Warning: It's my only one. So if it strikes your fancy snatch it up.

And don't miss every preschooler's favorite dinosaur, Barney. Plus, I have The Velveteen Rabbit (not pictured).

Easter "Eggs"travaganza

While we make the Bear and Friends Set year round and the book certainly isn't one of a kind, I am labeling this set as OOAK because it is the only one I have. So if it strikes your fancy, snatch it up now!
At a loss of what to fill your little one's Easter basket with? Want something other than sugar-laden treats? Look no further. This adorable book and finger puppet combo set will be a great addition to any Easter basket!
This set contains six of our darling finger puppets. (A Bear in a Red Shirt, An Owl, A Tiger, A Yellow Rabbit, A Donkey and A Pig in a Striped Shirt) and the book "Pooh's The Very Best Easter Bunny".
This Little Golden Book is a cute Easter tale. Rabbit cannot play the Easter Bunny because he has too much work to do in his garden. Pooh and his friends try on the bunny costume, but none can seem to fill Rabbit's shoes. In the end, Rabbit's friends help him with his work so that he can play the Easter Bunny after all.

Pooh Bear Wisdom

Who knew a Pooh Bear could be so funny, sweet, and articulate? Here are some quotes from that lovable Winnie the Pooh.

“If you live to be 100, I hope I live to be 100 minus 1 day, so I never have to live without you.”

“If ever there is tomorrow when we're not together.. there is something you must always remember. you are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think. but the most important thing is, even if we're apart.. I'll always be with you.”

“It is more fun to talk with someone who doesn't use long, difficult words but rather short, easy words like "What about lunch?"”

“You can't stay in your corner of the Forest waiting for others to come to you. You have to go to them sometimes.”

“If the person you are talking to doesn't appear to be listening, be patient. It may simply be that he has a small piece of fluff in his ear.”

“Sometimes, if you stand on the bottom rail of a bridge and lean over to watch the river slipping slowly away beneath you, you will suddenly know everything there is to be known.”

“You can't help respecting anybody who can spell TUESDAY, even if he doesn't spell it right; but spelling isn't everything. There are days when spelling Tuesday simply doesn't count.”

“A little Consideration, a little Thought for Others, makes all the difference.”

“Don't underestimate the value of Doing Nothing, of just going along, listening to all the things you can't hear, and not bothering.”

"When late morning rolls around and you're feeling a bit out of sorts, don't worry; you're probably just a little eleven o'clockish.”
